TFH Update #2 Coming Soon

All being well, within the next 24 hours, we'll be sending out an update pack to all Femdoms and vendors. This is in preparation for the next walk-through (which happens starting April 8th). The pack contains v3.0 of the hunt sign and we'll be asking you all to replace your current hunt signs with this one (this version contains more content and is also set up for showing and handing out your hint when the time comes to set it).

The other important item that the pack contains is the hunt object -- the item that will contain your hunt gift and which will be hidden for hunters to find. The pack contains a notecard that gives instructions on what to do with it for now.

Please keep an eye on group notices. We'll send out a notice to let everyone know when all the update packs have been sent out. If you don't receive yours, or it gets lost when you do receive it, please contact Zardia Avindar as soon as possible so she can send you a fresh copy.

As always, if you have any questions, no matter how small, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid. We'll do everything we can to help.

What Happens Next

One of the really delightful things about this hunt, so far, is that we've received support from locations (many of them Femdom sims) that haven't taken part, as a hunt location, in a grid-wide hunt such as this before. This does mean, however, that we have to be careful when we assume knowledge on the part of all those supporting the hunt. Here at Z&A, we've been taking part in hunts for a year now, so it's second nature to us. As such, if you find yourself unsure about anything, anything at all, please don't hesitate to contact us and ask. No question is too simple. Please, just ask away.

We've had a couple of people ask about what happens next as we head towards the start of the hunt, and how the hunt itself will be conducted in terms of how your items will be made available for hunters. Because of this we thought it might be a good idea, for those new to grid-wide hunts, to give some more detail about how this will work.
  • The key dates can always be found in the hunt timetable. The next important date is April 8th, which will be the second walk-through.
  • Prior to that date, probably a week or so before, we'll be dropping a pack on you that will consist of the hunt item and some extra information and instructions. This item is the object that, eventually, you'll be placing your gift in and hiding at your location. We'll have created it for you, will have named it for you and will have placed the necessary landmark inside it for you (your item will contain a landmark that points to the next location in the hunt).
  • By the 8th, in time for the second walk-through, we need you to rez that object out, by the side of your sign, so that we can see it when we come by. This simply helps us know that all locations have received the object and are ready to proceed.
  • After that the next key date is April 14th, the evening before the hunt starts. By this time we require that you've built your gift and have placed it inside the hunt object. The hunt object itself should then be hidden at your location.
  • At midnight on April 15th (just to be clear, because it can cause confusion: we're talking about the midnight between the 14th and the 15th) the hunt starts. By this time your object should be set so that people can get their gift. More on this below.
We've had a couple of people ask about how the hunt item will be set to deliver the gift. The system we'll be using is the one that's used by the majority of grid-wide hunts, and the one that's easiest to handle: you'll set the hunt object to sell the contents and set the price to L$0. Ideally you'll also set it so that a left-click will buy the object. This way hunters just click on the object (or buy it from the pie menu) and their gift is handed to them.

This approach sometimes raises a few obvious questions so we'll try and answer them here:
  • Doesn't this mean that people can take multiple copies of my gift? Yes, it does. If your gift has no-transfer permissions (common for clothing and other worn items) this isn't an issue. For some it can be a concern if your item is no-copy/transfer. Most vendors handle this by, if possible, making the item no-copy/no-transfer. It should be said that, in a year of taking part in hunts, we've almost always used this system and have never seen anyone abuse it.
  • Can I use a touch-to-give script instead? One that tracks who has had a copy of my item? If you wish, yes. We won't be providing such script and we do ask that you let us know so we can note this in the location list (this helps stop hunters getting confused).
  • How can I see how many hunters have been through my location and got my gift if we don't use a script? Simply take a look at your transaction history in your Second Life dashboard.
  • Does this mean that people who aren't in the hunt can get my item? Yes, it does. However, it's worth noting that there isn't really such a thing as "in the hunt". Many hunters will do the whole hunt. Some might only do part of it. Some people might be at your location, shopping or visiting, and might stumble on the gift and take a copy. In the latter case that might mean that they either get to try your build and will like to come back for more, or they might not have known about the hunt and your contribution pulls them in and they join in. Either way, they'll be walking away with something that might pull them back to your location at a later date.
Hopefully the above answers most of your questions about how the hunt will start. As always, if you have any questions, no matter how small, please don't hesitate to ask us. Just IM or drop a notecard on Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid. We'll reply as soon as we possibly can.

The Femdom Hunt Locations

Now that the first walk-through is complete, and most locations are settled and displaying the latest sign, it's time to publish the list of hunt locations. The list is in the order that applications came in, and the Femdom sims have been spaced evenly through the list (again, in the order that applications were received). Please also remember that this is a circular hunt so that, while each location has a number, this doesn't imply an order. We encourage people to start at any location they wish (we imagine that many will start at their "home" Femdom sim, for example).

The Femdom Hunt Locations: http://bit.ly/TFHLocations

Please keep in mind that this list might change. All location numbers will remain the same, but it is possible, between now and the hunt starting (and during the hunt), that SLURLs will change or locations will leave the hunt. The list linked to above will always be the latest list of locations and will be updated as soon as we have new information.

Keep it bookmarked. Keep it safe. Share it with everyone. :-)

As always, if you have any questions about this, or any other aspect of the hunt, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Vila Pixelmaid or Antony Fairport. If there's any way we can help, we will.

Applications Are Now Closed

Just a reminder that the window for applications to be a participating vendor or Femdom has now closed.

We've had a great response, better than we dared hope, and we've got some fantastic shops and Femdom sims taking part. We'll be publishing the full list in the next day or so.

Please remember that the next important date on the timetable is the first walk-through. We'll be visiting every location that has successfully applied to be in the hunt and checking that a) the SLURL we were given was correct and b) making sure that you have your hunt sign on display. Please also note that a new hunt sign will be coming out to you in the next few days. This one will replace your current hunt sign and, rather than giving out information on how to join the hunt as a vendor, it'll give potential hunters information about the hunt and will also offer them the chance to join the hunt group.

If you have any questions, or you need to update us regarding your participation in the hunt, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid.

PS:  We'd like to take this chance to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive so early on. This is the first hunt we've ever organised so that support has been very encouraging.

Just Two Weeks Left to Apply to Join the Hunt

It's been a month now since we announced that The Femdom Hunt was open for applications and the response has been fantastic. Despite the fact that we announced the hunt earlier than most (given that this is the first hunt we've ever organised, and given that we were hoping to pull in some vendors and sims who haven't taken part in grid-wide hunts before, we wanted to give everyone plenty of time to get organised) we've had a great response.

As of the time of writing we have 44 locations who have applied. Around ¼ of them are Femdom sims (big and small) and ¾ of them are stores of all kinds. And we still have people asking for application forms.

If you're thinking of applying, or know of a vendor or sim who you think should apply, now's the time to do it or to hassle your favourite vendor. Applications close on the 14th of this month. Remember, you don't have to know what your build will be when you apply, so don't let that hold you back. Feel free to apply and then decide what to make for the hunt.

If you'd like an application form you can find one inside any of the hunt boards that are now going on display around the grid:

You can also find a copy on this blog. Or, if you wish, you can drop a line to Zardia Avindar or Antony Fairport, in world, and we'll send you a copy back.
