Announcing: Femdom Chat

From the team who brought you The Femdom Hunt:

This is a Second Life group, with associated blog, that aims to carry forward what The Femdom Hunt started. The general idea is to provide a grid-wide Femdom-related chat resource that will interconnect, support and promote all that the Femdom world in SL has to offer. And it'll hopefully contain all the banter we love from the hunt group too (yes, it is intended that it will be a chatty group).

If this sounds interesting please do take a look at the group's charter to get a better feel of what the group aims to offer. It's very early days, the idea is still evolving, so don't be surprised if there's a few obvious loose ends.

Hopefully we'll see you there. :-)

Thank You (Again)

And, here we are again, another Femdom Hunt is over. When we started work on the second hunt we wondered if it would be as well-received as the first. We wondered if we'd get stores and Femdoms involved again. We wondered if there'd be hunters willing to hunt again.

We needn't have worried. The response from all three was, and remains, heartening and encouraging. Because of this we'd like to round off TFH2 by saying thank you to all who took part. Thank you to the vendors who created some great gifts. Thank you to the Femdom locations who, not only made great gifts, but were kind enough, once again, to open their doors for the hunt. We'd also especially like to say thank you to the new Femdoms who joined us this time around -- it was great to have you join us. And, of course, we'd like to say a big thank you to all the hunters.

A huge thank you also goes to our helpers (Eve Terr, Reven Rosca and Vacy Mondalimare), who were our eyes and ears in the hunt group when we were either busy elsewhere, or simply away in RL. Your help was invaluable.

As with last time, in the next day or so we'll be clearing out the "Femdom Vendor" role (just the role, nobody will be removed from the group, of course). The group will remain, and everyone is welcome to remain in the group (if/when TFH3 is launched that'll be the first place invites will be posted so it goes without saying that vendors who stay in the group will get the chance to apply early). And, just like last time, this blog will remain. We'll leave the location list up too so you can always find the stores and Femdoms again.

And, now that the hunt is over, and there's no more hunting to be done, please consider leaving some feedback. It's a quick multiple-choice form, with the option to leave some text too if you wish. It's also totally anonymous if you wish. Your feedback really is useful to us.

And... that's it. Perhaps we'll see you again for TFH3. :-)

Possible shoe for TFH3?

In group chat there's been some mention of how it was tricky (hopefully in a good way) to find black shoes hidden on a black surface. So, we're thinking, for TFH3, glass slipper?

Goodness Gracious Goodness

We've just had a message from the owner of #62 -- Goodness Gracious telling us that a problem had been found with their gift. The problem has been fixed and the gift in the shoe has been updated.

If you have already hunted at this location you're invited to go back and pick up a fresh copy.

Many thanks to CreamyGoodness, the owner of Goodness Gracious, for fixing this and letting us know as soon as possible.

Second week hunt update

The hunt is now well into its second (and final) week and everything is going well. There are no known major problems with any of the locations.

Getting help

On the subject of problems: if you are out on the hunt, and you see something that you think might be a problem, please do let us know. The first port of call is, of course, the location list. If we are already aware of a problem and we're able to update the list, you'll find mention of it there. The second port of call is the hunt group. If a problem is known to the hunt there's a good chance someone will be able to help you with it, or at least let you know if it's a known problem.

However, if you raise a problem in the hunt group and don't get any help of feedback, please don't take it that "nobody cared" (as someone thought and said yesterday). If you don't get help with your problem it could be that none of the hunt organisers or helpers are currently online (or are busy helping someone already, or busy building). If that's the case then please don't hesitate to IM us, Antony Fairport or Zardia Avindar, directly. Our IMs go to email so if we're not online we'll get them anyway.

The hunt is still on

It might seem like a silly thing to say but please don't forget that the hunt is still running and going strong. There's still three whole days of hunting left, after today, so if you are a vendor or Femdom location, please consider reminding your customers and members that you're taking part and that there's lots of goodies to be had. And, hunters, don't forget to tell your friends.

Seeking feedback

As with the first hunt, we're very interested in what you have to say about how the hunt has been run. To this end we've created a feedback form. You're welcome to fill it on anonymously, or give your name -- the choice is yours and we're happy either way. We do very much appreciate your feedback so please consider filling it in. It'll only take a few minutes.

Midweek Update

The hunt is well into its first week now and, overall, things are going well. We've had a few glitches along the way but nothing too serious.

We're happy to report that we now have hints for every location in the hunt. If you find yourself at a location and no hint is showing on the hunt sign be sure to check http://bit.ly/TFH2Locations as the hint we have will be there. Also, if you run into any sort of problem with a location, be sure to look there too -- if we know of an issue at a location it will be noted there.

Those of you who have finished the hunt already might now be looking for another hunt to go on. If so you might like to take a look at The Whiz, from one of our helpers, Reven Rosca of PRIME.

Finally, we've had a special request from Dolome Demonia at Dolome Designs. We're told that there's been a huge problem with the group Builder's Brewery. Apparently they had over 16,000 members and, right now, the membership stands at 440. It seems that the group has suddenly "lost" most of its members. So, if you were a member, you might want to check that you still are. Either way, if you know of people who might have been a member, or you have access to other groups where it would be appropriate to mention this, you might like to pass this on.

PS: We've been searching blogs via Google, looking for mentions of the hunt, and listing them here on the blog. If you know of any mentions I've not found yet, or if you've written about the hunt and we're not aware of it, please do drop Antony Fairport a line and he'll update the blogged page.

Update of Mo Noel's gift

Mo Noel has just contacted us to let us know that she's found a bug with her gift. Those of you who have already found it, and tried it, will know what the bug is (turns out, it wasn't a devilish scheme to make life interesting for the RLV-using subs even though some of us thought it was).

Mo has now fixed the problem and has placed a new copy of the gift inside her shoe. She invites everyone who has already got a copy to come back and pick up a fresh one.

Also, although there was no need to, Mo would like to offer a little extra to everyone because of this issue. To quote a group notice from her:
Dear Customers,
find many of the most popular MoDesign products with great discount during the Femdom Hunt.

If you already found the hidden treasure at the MoDesign shop, please come again, as the prize had a bug (you get no menu). That bug is fixed now, so come in and start over!

Enjoy!
Mo.
In other words, back at her store, Mo has placed a discount on many of her most popular products (we're told up to 50% in some cases).

To get a fresh copy of the gift, and to have a look at the discounted items, just pop back to #25 -- MoDesign.

Thanks Mo. :)

Day Three Update

We're well into the third day of the hunt now and everything's still going well. Currently we're unaware of any major issues. As always, if you do notice anything that seems to be a problem, however small, please do let us know.

We'd also like to mention a couple of issues that have cropped up in the last day:

The first is the issue of people rezzing items at hunt locations. We do appreciate that sometimes people want to open gifts as soon as possible but we'd like to remind everyone that, just because a location allows rezz rights, it doesn't mean they wish to be used as a gift-opening sandbox. We know of at least once instance where someone rezzed out part of an outfit, that was well over 100 prims (approaching 200), and came close to using up the remaining prim allowance of the location. So, just a friendly, reminder, build "on" at a parcel doesn't mean that rezzing is always welcome. Please only use designated unpacking areas. If you really do need to unpack or adjust something (while it's rezzed out) really quickly, perhaps a quick trip to a sandbox is in order? Here's a list of some mature and adult sandboxes:

Adult:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sandbox%20Teagano/129/129/27 (Premium members only)
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sandbox%20Bricker/128/128/27 (Premium members only)

Mature:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Fermi/76/128/24
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Builders%20Resource/111/9/23

The other issue is that of people finding decoy shoes. Some locations will have decoy objects out. These objects will be named the same as the gift. The objects might be copies of the shoe, or they might be other objects or even part of the location's building. These decoys are normally in locations you wouldn't find the actual gift using normal hint-following and camming techniques. Please understand that decoys are used with our blessing (personally we don't use them, but we understand why some locations prefer to) and, as far as we're aware, all are placed so that they could never be found by following the hint. If you are aware of one that is placed otherwise please do let us know.

Well into the second day

We're now well into the second day of the hunt and we're delighted to report that things are going well. The few issues we had on the first day were fairly minor and easily dealt with, and we'd like to thank all the hunters who reported issues to us so we could deal with them as soon as possible.

One reminder we would like to make is the issue of nudity on mature sims. For some stores full nudity can be an issue so, please, when out on the hunt, especially if you're heading to a location on a mature sim, please try and be wearing something to cover up the more interesting parts. Don't worry, there's plenty of adult locations that welcome (or even encourage) full nudity, just be sure to keep an eye on each the maturity rating of each location if you are running around the hunt naked.

Please note that for the next 24 hours Antony and Zardia's online time will be patchy due to RL. Please do send issues to us, via IM, if you have any. IMs are set to go to email so we'll know of the issue (and might be in a positon to deal with it). Also, please don't forget we've got a very helpful hunt group so joining that and taking part is a good idea.

Also note that we have three wonderful helpers who are watching out and keeping an eye on things and who will fordward us any problems. They are:
  • Eve Terr
  • Reven Rosca
  • Vacy Mondalimare (Vacquero Mondalimare)
If there is a serious issue regarding the hunt and Zardia and Antony are not online they will be able to help.

Finally, don't forget these helpful resources:
Have fun, and happy hunting. And, most of all, thank you so much for making this hunt what it is. :-)

Time to Eat

It's lunch time for Antony, and dinner time for Z... BBQ!

Keeping Z Safe

So Z went afk for dinner. Best keep her safe...

Current Known Issues

Here are the current (and past) known issues:
  1. The landmark in the shoe at #28, pointing to #29 (Lushish Catz), is wrong. If you use that LM you'll be ejected what what is now a private parcel. Please use this landmark instead. http://slurl.com/secondlife/High%20Sierra/241/218/24 -- We're working to get the shoe at #28 updated. Now fixed.
  2. #47 -- Succulent! -- aren't ready yet. If you reach #46 please skip to #48 until further notice. Now fixed. Succulent's gift is now available and ready to be hunted.
  3. #16 -- Campalicious! -- The shoes are not set for sale. We're contacted the store owner to let them know. Please skip to #17 for now and we'll announce when it's fixed so you can go back and get the gifts. Now fixed.
  4. #11 -- Thorns and Petals -- This store is a bit of a walk away from the landing point given by the landmark we were first given. We're looking to get this fixed in the shoe at #10 (the previous store). In the mean time please use this SLURL instead. This will take you to a landing point closer to the store and there is a hunt path laid down for you to follow. Also, note that there's two shoes here, rezzed as a pair -- if you buy from one and it is empty, try the other one...
  5. #73 -- Dolome Designs -- The gift doesn't appear to be out at the moment. Please skip to #74 for now and we'll let everyone know when it's fixed. Now fixed.
  6. When you find the gift at  #71 -- Dominant Images -- be sure to buy it my touching the toe end of the shoe. It seems that, by accident, a transparent prim is covering part of the shoe. We've let the location owner know of the issue. Now fixed.
This blog entry will be updated as issues are fixed or other issues crop up.

We'd also like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has been keeping us updated of what they've found. We really appreciate it.

The Hunt is On!

Finally, after a lot of planning and building by many people, the time is here. It's the 14th, The Femdom Hunt II has started! We're glad you could join us.

Now that you're setting out on the hunt we just wanted to remind everyone of the resources that are available to you:
Now for a serious moment: please remember, this is the first day of the hunt. The first few hours of any hunt almost always throw up a hurdle or two. The people who have made this hunt possible are spread out across many different timezones, and they all have a RL that demands their attention too. Because of this we ask that if you find a problem, if there's an issue, you let us know, skip to the next location, and pop back later. The latest news will always be available here on this blog and in the location list. We understand and appreciate that it can be frustrating (we love to go on hunts too), but any early problems will be fixed and we'll be letting people know when they are fixed.

Don't forget, there's a whole two weeks to get everything.

And, remember, the hunt group is a great place to report issues, find out about issues, seek help if you're stock or, of course, offer help to your fellow hunters.

It's also a great place to have a natter with the Femdom Hunt community too.

And, above all else, do remember: have fun. We are. ;-)

TFH2: Almost There

As of the time of writing there's a little under a day and a half to go until The Femdom Hunt II starts. Almost everything is done. Almost everything is in place. Hopefully everyone has their builds/creations/gifts all done and ready.

For the Femdom owners and vendors: by now most of you have v3.0 of the sign out, thank you. Now would be a great time to decide where you'll hide your gift and what your hint will be to point the hunters in the right direction. If you need help setting the hint inside the sign be sure to take a look at yesterday's blog entry. If you have any other issues with it please do feel free to contact Antony.

Remember that final walk-though is tomorrow, Thursday, Second Life time. We'll be doing the walk-though at some point during the day, there's no fixed time yet. All we're looking for this time is that you're still there and that your sign is out. Also, at this point in time, please take in the copy of the shoe you rezzed next to the sign for us. This isn't needed any more.

We're going to be posting hints on the online location list so, when you do decide your hint, could you please drop a copy of it on Antony? When you do so please be sure to include your location number so we can easily find you in the list and update it.

And, don't forget, we're very close now so now's a great time to be posting about the hunt to your groups if you have any, or posting about it on your blog if you have one. We've already had a great mention by Evelock and we'd love to hear of any other mentions.

For the hunters: You can find the rules and guidelines for the hunt here on this blog. Don't forget that there's an in-world group for the hunt too. If the first hunt is anything to go by it's a fun and chatty group (note that we welcome and encourage group chat -- please keep this in mind, it will often be a friendly and chatty group).

If you are wondering where to start the hunt: everyone is, of course, more than welcome to come start at Z&A Productions. However, this is a circular hunt and we want to encourage people to start at their favourite shop or "home" Femdom. You can find a list of all participating locations here on the blog. Note that when the hunt starts hints and landmarks will be included there.

As for when it starts... Friday. This Friday. Friday 14th. At midnight. Midnight on the start of this Friday. Second Life time. The first stroke of this Friday Second Life time.

Did we mention it's this Friday? ;-)

How To: Set the hint in your hunt sign

By now most of you have the v3.0 sign out and visible at your location (and for those who don't, if you could place it out as soon as possible, and let Antony know that you've done so, that'd be great). You've probably already noticed that the big difference between v2.0 and v3.0 is that there's some hover text that is designed to show the hint for your location.

At some point soon you'll be wanting to set your hint. What you set it to is, of course, up to you. You can make it nice and easy, or you can make it rather tricky. It really depends on just how hard you want to make it for the hunters who come to your location. No matter what you decide to do in that regard, you'll need to set the hint so that it shows on the board -- here's how to do it (please note that all instructions and illustrations are written with a 1.23 style viewer in mind -- in this case they were done with Phoenix; there will be differences if you are using Viewer 2.x, Viewer 3.x, or similar viewers):

Right click on the sign and select "Edit" from the menu. This will give you the usual edit dialog:

Now select the content tab in the edit dialog. You'll get a list of all the items that live inside the sign:

At the top of the list you should see a notecard called Hint. Double-click on this to open it so you can edit it:

At this point you want to delete the text that's in there (by default it says "All will be revealed by October 14th") and replace it with your hint. Please note that the hint can be multiple lines so, if you really do feel the urge to pen a poem or something similar, you can -- we'd advise not making the hint too long though.

Once you've made your change hit the Save button.

Once saved you can close the notecard. When you do you should find that the text you wrote in the notecard is now hovering above the shoe that is on the face of the sign.

Congratulations: the hint is set.

Second Walk Through Has Finished

The second walk through has now finished. We've visited every location in the hunt and checked for two things:
  1. Version 3.0 of the hunt sign was out and visible from your given landing point.
  2. A copy of your hunt object -- the shoe -- was rezzed nearby so we could check it.
Zardia dropped a notecard on the primary contact of every location. This notecard will tell you if everything was okay or, if not, what problem was found.

A good number of locations didn't have their shoe rezzed out. Just to be clear, so there's no confusion: we're not talking about the shoe that is attached to the hunt sign -- that's there so hunters know what they're looking for (it's also what displays your hint) -- we're talking about the object that you'll be placing your gift inside and then hiding, later this week. The object is named with your location number and your location name. For example, the shoe for Z&A Productions, which is location #1, is named like this:

TFH2 - #01 - Z&A Productions

If you had a notecard to say that your shoe was missing, please place a copy of it near your hunt sign as soon as possible and drop Antony Fairport a line to let him know it's out.

The main reason we do this is that it lets us visit your location and check that:
  1. We sent you the right object.
  2. We placed the right landmark inside it.
If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Sunday, 9 October 2011

Reminder: Second Walk-Through is Tomorrow

Just a little reminder that the second walk-through is happening tomorrow. At some point during Monday (SL time) Zardia and Antony will be taking a walk through your location and they'll be looking for the following:
  1. Version 3.0 of the hunt sign on display at your landing point.
  2. Your hunt object (the shoe) rezzed out with the sign.
Please remember: you don't need to do anything with the shoe yet. Please don't go putting your hunt gift inside it, the hunt doesn't start until Friday. This is just our way of making sure that everyone got their shoe, that they still have it, that everyone got sent the right one and that the landmark inside it is correct and still working.

Please keep in mind that we're now less than a week away from the start of the hunt. If you have a group that is associated with your Femdom location or store, now might be a good time to start promoting the hunt. If you have a blog, now might be a good time to write about it there. If you know of any related groups or blogs that would welcome information on the hunt please feel free to pass them a copy of the publicity pack (if you lost your copy please let Antony Fairport or Zardia Avindar know and we'll drop you another copy -- a copy was included in the second update pack you were sent last Thursday).

Oh, yes, and now's a good time to be getting your build/creation done if you've not done so already. ;-)

As always, if you have any questions about the hunt, no matter how small or simple, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll do everything we can to help.

TFH2: What happens next

Now that the first update pack has gone out, and the first walk-through has taken place, we've had a couple of people ask questions about what will happen next in the hunt, how the gift will be packaged and hidden, who's responsible for what, etc... So, in the spirit of this post from the first Femdom Hunt, we'll outline what'll happen over the few days left until the hunt starts.

Before we get into that, we'd like to update everyone on another small change to the timetable. Because the first walk-through was push back a little, we're going to do the same with the second. Whereas it was going to take place this Friday (October 7th) it will now take place on Monday (October 10th). This will give everyone a little more time to get in-world after receiving their second update pack.

With that said, here's what'll happen over the next few days:
  • No later than this Friday you'll receive a second update pack from us. Please watch out for it and please let us know if you haven't received it. If you don't have it by Saturday, and we've not put out a note to say there's been a delay (there shouldn't be, but you know how SL and RL can be), let us know. This update pack will include v3.0 of the hunt sign (a version that will let you set and display your hint -- there will be a post later this week that details how you set the hint, it'll work the same as last time), your hunt object (a black shiny shoe -- this is the object your gift will be place in and which you'll hide), and some items that will help you publicise the hunt.
  • The hunt object (the shoe) will be pre-named for you and will have a landmark inside it. Please do not change either of these things. The name is set so that hunters can easily organise the folders they'll receive from your object when they hunt. The landmark inside the shoe is the landmark for the next location in the hunt after you (in TFH1 we had a couple of people "fix" the landmark because it was "wrong", doing this will break the chain of the hunt so, if you think there is a problem with the landmark, please contact us first).
  • On the 10th we'll be doing a second walk-through. We'll be expecting to see that you've replaced v2.0 of the hunt sign with v3.0. We will also be expecting to see the hunt object (the shoe) rezzed near the sign so we can see it. Do not put your gift inside it yet. We just want to see it so we can be sure that you've received it.
  • After that the next key date is October 13th, the evening before the hunt starts. By this time we require that you've built your gift and have placed it inside the hunt object. The hunt object itself should then be hidden at your location.
  • At midnight on October 15th (just to be clear, because it can cause confusion: we're talking about the midnight between the 13th and the 14th) the hunt starts. By this time your object should be set so that people can get their gift. More on this below.
We've had a couple of people ask about how the hunt item will be set to deliver the gift. The system we'll be using is the one that's used by the majority of grid-wide hunts, and the one that's easiest to handle: you'll set the hunt object to sell the contents and set the price to L$0 (actually, it should already be set that way when you receive it from us, but it's always good to check). Ideally you'll also set it so that a left-click will buy the object (again, when you receive it from us it should already be set that way). This way hunters just click on the object (or buy it from the pie menu) and their gift is handed to them.

This approach sometimes raises a few obvious questions so we'll try and answer them here:
  • Doesn't this mean that people can take multiple copies of my gift? Yes, it does. If your gift has no-transfer permissions (common for clothing and other worn items) this isn't an issue. For some it can be a concern if your item is no-copy/transfer. Most vendors handle this by, if possible, making the item no-copy/no-transfer. It should be said that, in a year of taking part in hunts, we've almost always used this system and have never seen anyone abuse it.
  • Can I use a touch-to-give script instead? One that tracks who has had a copy of my item? If you wish, yes. We won't be providing such script and we do ask that you let us know so we can note this in the location list (this helps stop hunters getting confused).
  • How can I see how many hunters have been through my location and got my gift if we don't use a script? Simply take a look at your transaction history in your Second Life dashboard.
  • Does this mean that people who aren't in the hunt can get my item? Yes, it does. However, it's worth noting that there isn't really such a thing as "in the hunt". Many hunters will do the whole hunt. Some might only do part of it. Some people might be at your location, shopping or visiting, and might stumble on the gift and take a copy. In the latter case that might mean that they either get to try your build and will like to come back for more, or they might not have known about the hunt and your contribution pulls them in and they join in. Either way, they'll be walking away with something that might pull them back to your location at a later date.
Hopefully the above answers most of your questions about how the hunt will start. As always, if you have any questions, no matter how small, please don't hesitate to ask us. Just IM or drop a notecard on Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid. We'll reply as soon as we possibly can.

Update pack #1 sent out (and a slight change of plan)

By the time you read this every vendor and Femdom owner will have received, from Antony, a folder called "The Femdom Hunt II -- Update Pack 1". This folder contains a notecard about the update, a copy of the rules and guidelines for hunters (should you want to send out a copy to your group) and v2.0 of the hunt sign. This new version of the sign gives out details about the hunt for hunters rather than details of the hunt for potential vendors.

You'll also notice that it's got a black shoe on it. This will be the hunt object for the hunt.

If you have version 1 of the hunt sign on display, please remove it and replace it with version 2. If you've yet to put the sign out, please put out version 2. Please feel free to put out as many copies as you wish.

Remember, when we come to do the first walkthrough, we'll be looking for this sign, and we'll be looking to see that it's v2.0 of the sign.

And, talking of the first walkthrough, there's a slight change of plan. Zardia's been rather ill this week so her time in-world has been very limited. As such, we're a little behind schedule. Nothing too bad, we planned for this sort of thing so there's enough time for the odd slip here and there. The first walkthrough was going to be tomorrow (2011-09-30) but, instead, we're moving it until next Monday (2011-10-03). Please have v2.0 of the hunt sign visible from the SLURL you gave us by then.

And, as always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either Antony Fairport or Zardia Avindar.

PS: There's just a touch over 2 weeks until the hunt starts. We don't want to panic anyone but... if you've not started your build yet, now might be a good time. ;-)

Just a little reminder that applications to be a location on The Femdom Hunt II are now closed. We'll be contacting each location in the next day or so, sending a new copy of the hunt board. This board will differ from v1.0 of the board in that it'll contain information about the hunt for potential hunters (the current boards contain information for potential hunt locations).

And don't forget that the first walk-through takes place some time on Friday. We'll be looking to see that your SLURLs that you gave us are correct, and that you have the hunt sign on display.

We'd like to thank everyone who has helped to get the word out, and also all those who have applied to be in the hunt. Without your support this wouldn't be the fun event it is.

Just one week left to apply

Just a further reminder about the deadline for applications. There's now just under a week left to apply to be a location in The Femdom Hunt II. As we said last week, you don't have to know what you'll make for, or offer for, the hunt just yet -- all that matters is that you can make something or offer something as laid out in the vendor rules.

For those vendors and Femdom locations who have applied and been accepted: please don't forget to put your signs out. If you have received the group notice that links to this blog entry, and you've applied to be in the hunt, but you haven't received your welcome pack yet, this'll be down to a glitch with Second Life. All accepted applicants have received their welcome packs, which include the hunt sign.

Don't forget, first walkthrough takes place on September 30th and it's what we'll be looking for.

Just two weeks left to apply

Just a little reminder that there are now only two weeks left to apply to be part of the hunt as a vendor or Femdom location. Applications close on September 26th, with the first walkthrough taking place four days later.

If you are thinking of taking part in the hunt as either a vendor or a Femdom location now would be a good time to get your application in. Don't worry if you're not sure what you might make for the hunt yet, there's plenty of time to decide that. You don't have to know what you'll make as your gift to apply. And, if you're undecided because you're unsure how a hunt works, or if it's right for you, please do feel free to contact Zardia Avindar or Antony Fairport to find out more. Also, while some of the details might change, this post from the first hunt might help with understanding what'll happen and what will be required of you.

If you're one of the vendors or Femdom locations who have already applied please do remember to put the sign you received out on display right away. The more signs there are out the more people will know the hunt is happening. The more who know that it is happening the more locations we'll have in the hunt. The more locations we have in the hunt the more boards we'll have on display. Ultimately this means we'll have more hunters taking part and a very busy and enjoyable hunt. If you've misplaced your board, please do ask for another copy.

Finally, if you have a group associated with your location now would be a good time to start making a bit of buzz about the hunt. If you're a customer of a store, or a member of a Femdom, who aren't displaying a copy of the Femdom Hunt 2 sign, now would be a good time to point them in the direction of this blog and suggest they might want to take part.

Processing of applications has begun

As those who have already applied to be in the hunt will have seen, as of today we've started processing applications. From now on, until applications close, you should generally find that applications will be processed within 24 hours. Weekends might see a bit of a delay but, if you apply over a weekend, you should find that your welcome pack (should your application be accepted) arrives no later than the following Monday.

If you're worried in any way about your application please don't hesitate to contact us (Zardia Avindar, Vila Pixelmaid or Antony Fairport). We'll do everything we can to help out.

Announcing.... The Femdom Hunt 2

Z&A Productions are pleased to announce that we've decided that it's time for the return of The Femdom Hunt. We looked over all the feedback, especially paying attention to people's preferences for the frequency of such a hunt, and the general consensus seemed to be that every six months would be enjoyable. With this in mind we've picked dates for TFH2.

The hunt will run from October 14th until October 28th, inclusive. As with the first hunt, we'll be taking a mixture of vendors and Femdom sims and making the hunt a journey through the wider Second Life Femdom community.

Applications are now open. Please note that applications are made online, and that vendors and Femdoms have separate forms. If you have any issues or problems filling out your application please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid.

Initial processing of applications will start early next week so, if you apply early, don't worry if you don't hear from us before the middle of next week. The closing date for applications is September 26th.

The vendor rules are the same as the first hunt.

We'd also like to take this chance to say a big thank you to everyone who has encouraged us to organise a second hunt. We wouldn't be doing this without you and we're really looking forward to working with you all again -- and, hopefully, also meeting new people too.

Thank You (and Thoughts About TFH2)

While it's only just over two weeks ago that the hunt started it feels, for all the right reasons, that it has been with us so much longer. In that time we've had so much fun, have met so many great new people, and have really enjoyed watching others have a blast while discovering all that SL's Femdom community has to offer.

In short, the hunt has been everything we wanted it to be, and more. And it's been that thanks to all of you. This hunt would not have been what it has been without the involvement of the Femdoms who were kind enough to support us. This hunt would not have been what it has been without the involvement of the vendors. This hunt would not have been what it has been without the buzz created by the hunters.

For all of that we (Vila Pixelmaid, Zardia Avindar and Antony Fairport) want to say thank you. You made this easy. You made this fun. You made us want to do this again some time (more on that in a moment).

We'd also like to say a special thank you to Vacy Mondalimare. She was kind enough to help us by keeping an eye on the hunt group at those times when we couldn't.

Now, on the subject of a repeat of TFH: we've had a lot of people (Femdom owners, vendors and hunters) ask if/when we'll do another Femdom hunt. It seems clear to us that, given just how popular this hunt has been, there's room for a second one. It won't be soon, we can guarantee that. Not only do we need a little bit of time to concentrate on Z&A, we also need some time to just sit back and do not much (except for Antony -- rumour has it his Mistress is feeling a little neglected, he might have some work to do there ;-) ). We also think that the hunt will only be a special and unique event if it isn't repeated too often. If and how TFH2 happens will depend on the feedback we receive. However, right now, it's looking like a repeat in about six months is the popular choice.

To this end, we're keeping the in-world group open and this blog will remain as the focal point for any hunt news. Please note that we will do some housekeeping with the in-world group, the main thing being that we'll remove vendor status from all vendors at some point soon. Please don't be offended, this is simply to allow us to build up the new vendor list at a later date.

We hope to see you all again for TFH2. Possibly with even more Femdoms. Very probably with more vendors. If we're lucky with even more hunters. Until then... thank you for being part of the first ever grid-wide Femdom hunt.

The Last Few Hours

As of the time of writing there are just 10 hours left to run in the hunt. If you've not started by now you'll have to be very dedicated to finish it. If you have already started this will be your last mad dash.

There are currently no known problems and, as far as we know, all shoes are still out at all of the hunt locations. We'd like to take this chance to remind all Femdoms and vendors that the hunt doesn't end until midnight tonight, Second Life time, so please do keep your shoes out until at least then.

Special note: The Velvet Thorn will be leaving their shoe out for an extra 24 hours. The sim suffered some problems yesterday that made it difficult for people to hunt there. Miss StarSong Bright has told us that the shoe will remain out the extra day to allow anyone who missed it to go pack and hunt it.

We'll do a final end-of-hunt blog post in the next couple or so days, but until then we'd like to thank everyone who has taken part. That includes the Femdom owners, the vendors and all of the hunters. We've had such fun these past two weeks, we've enjoyed the hunt more than we expected, and the response has been bigger and better than we ever dared hope.

We sincerely hope you've had as much fun as we have.

And, please don't forget, we really do value your opinion on how the hunt has gone. We've had many requests already regarding doing a second Femdom Hunt. Given the fun we've had it won't take much to persuade us to organise one. With this in mind we'd really appreciate it if you could leave us with some feedback. It'll help us decide how and when TFH2 might happen.

Happy hunting,
Vila Pixelmaid

Not long left now

The idea for the Femdom Hunt started back in September last year. The idea actually started with a rough design for a prop, a Z&A product-to-be, the thing that became the shopping bags.

From the idea of the bags followed "you'd need a mammoth shopping trip to use them". From that followed "they'd be neat to drag a boy on a hunt with". From that followed "ideally it'd be a Femdom-themed hunt". From that followed "why have we never seen a grid-wide Femdom hunt anyway?"

Fast forward to now and... it's almost over. There's just over three whole days left in the hunt. If you've not finished yet, you might want to get a move on. If you've not started yet you really do need to get a move on.

If you know anyone who hasn't done the hunt yet, and you think they'd enjoy it and the gifts to be found on it, now's the time to remind them. And, Femdom owners and vendors, if possible, now would be a good time to put out a final reminder to everyone. This is your last chance to show off your sim and your shop.

At least... until TFH2, should it happen. ;-)

Update: #40 -- Collar Bound -- Gift Now Available

We're happy to announce that #40 (Collar Bound) have been able to get their gifts out. If you've already hunted past that location they'd be delighted if you could head back over and hunt their too.

Note that two shoes are hidden at this location. The clue to the second can be found in the first.

As far as we know this means that all known issues are now resolved.

Post-Weekend Status Update

Just a little status update after our first weekend. The hunt has gone amazingly well and, as of the time of writing, there are no serious problems to report. We're still waiting on the gift to be put out at #40 (Collar Bound) and when that is fixed we'll send out a group notice to let everyone know they can go back and visit.

Other than that, we're not aware of any serious issues. Do keep in mind, of course, that Tuesday and Wednesday will see rolling restarts over the grid so, if you find yourself unable to get into a location, keep an eye on the Second Life grid status blog to see if that's the cause. If you're a location owner please do feel free to shout out in group chat about your restart -- hunters do appreciate it when you let them know that you're down, and when you're back again.

Those of you who have finished the hunt already: thank you for hunting with us and we hope you had a great time. We've had some fantastic feedback from many of you. And, now that you've finished The Femdom Hunt, don't forget that two of our hunt locations have their own hunts happening at the moment. If you're still hunt-hungry be sure to check these out:
  • PRIME are running The Whizz Hunt, which also started on the 15th.
  • The Velvet Thorn have a three-week mini-hunt around their sim that also started on the 15th. To find out more just teleport to the sim and look near the landing point. You'll find a sign that will give you more information.
As always, if you have any questions or need any help, the hunt group is very active and helpful. And, please, don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar or Antony Fairport. If we're not online at the time we'll generally get your message and get back to you when we're next in.

Happy hunting. :-)

One Day In

Just over one day into the hunt now and it's going really well. The first few hours saw a handful of issues -- missing gifts, wrong LMs in hunt objects, that sort of thing -- but, thanks to the fast work of the vendors and sim owners involved, those problems were quickly fixed.

As of the time of writing the only location that has an issue is Collar Bound. Due to unforeseen circumstances they're unable to get their gift out at the moment and we're working with them to get it fixed as soon as possible. The moment it's fixed we'll announce this on the blog, and as a group notice, so you can all pay them a visit and hunt there.

As for how the hunt has gone so far... we're rather shocked. So far it's turned out to be a lot bigger than we expected. The support we've had from hunters has been overwhelming, in the best possible way. We can't thank you all enough.

We're also heartened by the buzz that many of you are generating about the blog. It's great to see blog entries such as this one from Future Femdom, and especially this one from Lingerie Clip (which does an awesome job of illustrating some of the gifts available -- and she's not done the whole hunt yet). If you know of any other blogs about the hunt, we'd love to hear about them.

Before we sign off for this blog entry, we'd also like to mention a couple of other hunts that are being run by, or hosted by, locations in this hunt:
They should help with the hunt-withdrawal when you finish The Femdom Hunt. ;-)

Current Known Issues

Almost two hours in and, mostly, the hunt is going smoothly. A small number of issues have cropped up and we're addressing them right now. They are:
  1. #10 -- Domaine LaFignonne -- we're unable to find the hunt item at this time. The item is there. It's just well hidden. ;-)
  2. #27 -- Velvet Crossing -- we're unable to find the hunt item at this time. Now fixed.
  3. #40 -- Collar Bound -- No gift in the shoe at this time. Grab the landmark and carry on. Now fixed.
  4. #50 -- House of X -- No gift in the shoe at this time. Grab the landmark and carry on. Now fixed.
  5. #52 -- Dolome Designs -- Has an older LM for #53. Use this one when you're done at #52. Now fixed.
  6. #68 -- Pirandello Bay -- RL has delayed putting out the gift. Should be fixed by the end of the day. Now fixed.
  7. #72 -- North Star Estates -- RL has delayed putting out the gift. Should be fixed by the end of the day. Now fixed.
In each case we've contacted the location owner (or they've been in contact with us to let us know) and we hope to have the problem resolved before the end of the day. Remember, you can see the latest status of every location over here.

We'll also update this blog entry as things change.

The Hunt is On!

Finally, the time is here, it’s the 15th, the Femdom Hunt has started! We’re glad you could join us.

Now that you’re setting out on the hunt we just wanted to remind everyone of the resources that are available to you:
Now for a serious moment: please remember, this is the first day of the hunt. The first few hours of any hunt almost always throw up a hurdle or two. The people who have made this hunt possible are spread out across many different timezones, and they all have a RL that demands their attention too. Because of this we ask that if you find a problem, if there’s an issue, you let us know, skip to the next location, and pop back later. The latest news will always be available here on this blog and in the location list. We understand and appreciate that it can be frustrating (we like to go on hunts too), but any early problems will be fixed and we'll be letting people know when they are fixed.

There's a whole two weeks to get everything.

Also remember: the hunt group is a great place to report issues, find out about issues, seek help if you’re stuck or, of course, offer help to your fellow hunters.

Oh, yes, and especially remember: have fun. We are. ;-)

The Femdom Hunt: Almost There

As of the time of writing we're a little under and and a day and a half away from the start of the hunt. Almost everything is done, almost everything is in place. Mostly, it's just a case of sitting and waiting.

While we're waiting, we're watching the slow and steady growth of the hunt group. We're already some way past the point where hunters start to outnumber location-owners. So, with that in mind, with the assumption that you're a new reader of this blog, here's some handy pointers:
If you're not in the hunt group we'd encourage you to join. You can join via the hunt sign you'll find at all of the locations on the hunt. If you need a personal invite because you can't get to a location right now please feel free to IM Antony Fairport in-world and he'll arrange it for you.

How To: Set the Hint in Your Hunt Sign

By now you should have v3.0 of the hunt sign up and visible at your location (if not you'll have had a notecard about this from Zardia). You'll have noticed, with this version of the sign, there's some hover text over the sample shoe that lives on the sign -- this is where your hunt hint will go.

At some point soon you'll be wanting to set your hint. What you set it to is, of course, up to you. You can make it nice and easy, or you can make it rather tricky. It really depends on just how hard you want to make it for the hunters who come to your location. No matter what you decide to do in that regard, you'll need to set the hint so that it shows on the board -- here's how to do it (please note that all instructions and illustrations are written with a 1.23 style viewer in mind -- in this case they were done with Phoenix; there will be differences if you are using Viewer 2.x):

Right click on the sign and select "Edit" from the menu. This will give you the usual edit dialog:

Now select the content tab in the edit dialog. You'll get a list of all the items that live inside the sign:

At the top of the list you should see a notecard called Hint. Double-click on this to open it so you can edit it:

At this point you want to delete the text that's in there (by default it says "All will be revealed by April 15th") and replace it with your hint.

Reminder: Second Walk-Through is Tomorrow

Just a little reminder that the second walk-through is happening tomorrow. Starting some time after midnight (Second Life time) Zardia and Antony will be taking a walk through every location on the location list and will be looking for the following:
  1. Version 3.0 of the hunt sign on display at your landing point.
  2. Your hunt object (the shoe) rezzed out with the sign.
Please remember: you don't need to do anything with the hunt object yet. Please don't go putting your hunt gift inside the shoe, the hunt doesn't start for another week. This is just our way of making sure that everyone got their shoe, that they still have it, that you got sent the correct one and that the trail of landmarks we made for you is still working.

Please keep in mind that we're just over a week away from the start of the hunt. If you have a sim or shop group, now might be a good time to start promoting the hunt in it. If you have a sim or shop blog, now might be a good time to write about it on there. If you know of any related groups or blogs that would welcome information on the hunt please feel free to pass them a copy of the publicity pack (if you lost your copy please let Zardia Avindar or Antony Fairport know and we'll drop you another copy -- you got a copy in your last update pack).

Oh, yes, and now's a good time to be getting your build done if you've not done so already. ;-)

As always, if you have any questions, no matter how small or simple, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia or Antony. We'll do everything we can to help.

Second Walk-Through at the End of This Week

Please remember that the second walk-through is scheduled to happen on Friday (SL time) this week. If you've not done so yet, now's a good time to get v3.0 of the hunt sign, and the hunt item, out on display.

Starting some time in the early hours of the 8th Zardia and Antony will be going through the location list and checking that all signs and shoes are out. If you have any changes for the location list (perhaps your desired landing point has changed, or perhaps your shop has moved sim) we'd appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as possible. During the walk-through we'll be dropping a notecard on you to let you know if everything looks good, or to highlight any issues that we'll need fixing.

As always, if you need any help, or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar or Antony Fairport.

TFH Update #2 Coming Soon

All being well, within the next 24 hours, we'll be sending out an update pack to all Femdoms and vendors. This is in preparation for the next walk-through (which happens starting April 8th). The pack contains v3.0 of the hunt sign and we'll be asking you all to replace your current hunt signs with this one (this version contains more content and is also set up for showing and handing out your hint when the time comes to set it).

The other important item that the pack contains is the hunt object -- the item that will contain your hunt gift and which will be hidden for hunters to find. The pack contains a notecard that gives instructions on what to do with it for now.

Please keep an eye on group notices. We'll send out a notice to let everyone know when all the update packs have been sent out. If you don't receive yours, or it gets lost when you do receive it, please contact Zardia Avindar as soon as possible so she can send you a fresh copy.

As always, if you have any questions, no matter how small, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid. We'll do everything we can to help.

What Happens Next

One of the really delightful things about this hunt, so far, is that we've received support from locations (many of them Femdom sims) that haven't taken part, as a hunt location, in a grid-wide hunt such as this before. This does mean, however, that we have to be careful when we assume knowledge on the part of all those supporting the hunt. Here at Z&A, we've been taking part in hunts for a year now, so it's second nature to us. As such, if you find yourself unsure about anything, anything at all, please don't hesitate to contact us and ask. No question is too simple. Please, just ask away.

We've had a couple of people ask about what happens next as we head towards the start of the hunt, and how the hunt itself will be conducted in terms of how your items will be made available for hunters. Because of this we thought it might be a good idea, for those new to grid-wide hunts, to give some more detail about how this will work.
  • The key dates can always be found in the hunt timetable. The next important date is April 8th, which will be the second walk-through.
  • Prior to that date, probably a week or so before, we'll be dropping a pack on you that will consist of the hunt item and some extra information and instructions. This item is the object that, eventually, you'll be placing your gift in and hiding at your location. We'll have created it for you, will have named it for you and will have placed the necessary landmark inside it for you (your item will contain a landmark that points to the next location in the hunt).
  • By the 8th, in time for the second walk-through, we need you to rez that object out, by the side of your sign, so that we can see it when we come by. This simply helps us know that all locations have received the object and are ready to proceed.
  • After that the next key date is April 14th, the evening before the hunt starts. By this time we require that you've built your gift and have placed it inside the hunt object. The hunt object itself should then be hidden at your location.
  • At midnight on April 15th (just to be clear, because it can cause confusion: we're talking about the midnight between the 14th and the 15th) the hunt starts. By this time your object should be set so that people can get their gift. More on this below.
We've had a couple of people ask about how the hunt item will be set to deliver the gift. The system we'll be using is the one that's used by the majority of grid-wide hunts, and the one that's easiest to handle: you'll set the hunt object to sell the contents and set the price to L$0. Ideally you'll also set it so that a left-click will buy the object.

The Femdom Hunt Locations

Now that the first walk-through is complete, and most locations are settled and displaying the latest sign, it's time to publish the list of hunt locations. The list is in the order that applications came in, and the Femdom sims have been spaced evenly through the list (again, in the order that applications were received). Please also remember that this is a circular hunt so that, while each location has a number, this doesn't imply an order. We encourage people to start at any location they wish (we imagine that many will start at their "home" Femdom sim, for example).

The Femdom Hunt Locations: http://bit.ly/TFHLocations

Please keep in mind that this list might change. All location numbers will remain the same, but it is possible, between now and the hunt starting (and during the hunt), that SLURLs will change or locations will leave the hunt. The list linked to above will always be the latest list of locations and will be updated as soon as we have new information.

Keep it bookmarked. Keep it safe. Share it with everyone. :-)

As always, if you have any questions about this, or any other aspect of the hunt, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Vila Pixelmaid or Antony Fairport. If there's any way we can help, we will.

Tuesday, 15 March 2011

Applications Are Now Closed

Just a reminder that the window for applications to be a participating vendor or Femdom has now closed.

We've had a great response, better than we dared hope, and we've got some fantastic shops and Femdom sims taking part. We'll be publishing the full list in the next day or so.

Please remember that the next important date on the timetable is the first walk-through. We'll be visiting every location that has successfully applied to be in the hunt and checking that a) the SLURL we were given was correct and b) making sure that you have your hunt sign on display. Please also note that a new hunt sign will be coming out to you in the next few days. This one will replace your current hunt sign and, rather than giving out information on how to join the hunt as a vendor, it'll give potential hunters information about the hunt and will also offer them the chance to join the hunt group.

If you have any questions, or you need to update us regarding your participation in the hunt, please don't hesitate to contact Zardia Avindar, Antony Fairport or Vila Pixelmaid.

PS:  We'd like to take this chance to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive so early on. This is the first hunt we've ever organised so that support has been very encouraging.

Just Two Weeks Left to Apply to Join the Hunt

It's been a month now since we announced that The Femdom Hunt was open for applications and the response has been fantastic. Despite the fact that we announced the hunt earlier than most (given that this is the first hunt we've ever organised, and given that we were hoping to pull in some vendors and sims who haven't taken part in grid-wide hunts before, we wanted to give everyone plenty of time to get organised) we've had a great response.

As of the time of writing we have 44 locations who have applied. Around ¼ of them are Femdom sims (big and small) and ¾ of them are stores of all kinds. And we still have people asking for application forms.

If you're thinking of applying, or know of a vendor or sim who you think should apply, now's the time to do it or to hassle your favourite vendor. Applications close on the 14th of this month. Remember, you don't have to know what your build will be when you apply, so don't let that hold you back. Feel free to apply and then decide what to make for the hunt.

If you'd like an application form you can find one inside any of the hunt boards that are now going on display around the grid:

You can also find a copy on this blog. Or, if you wish, you can drop a line to Zardia Avindar or Antony Fairport, in world, and we'll send you a copy back.

Vendor Rules and Application Form

Hunt Information

The Femdom Hunt will run from April 15th to April 30th, inclusive. The hunt is an adult-themed hunt which, as the name implies, is aimed at the Femdom community in Second Life.

The hunt is organised by Vila Pixelmaid, Zardia Avindar and Antony Fairport.

Applications are currently open and will be accepted until the end of March 14th 2011 (SLT).

We are seeking vendors who are willing to contribute quality builds that will be on-theme. We also encourage, but do not require, that builds that are gender-specific cater for both genders (in other words, if you mostly build for female avatars, try and include something for male avatars too).

Vendor Rules and Timetable

We are only accepting applications from stores that are located on mature or adult sims. Please keep in mind the adult nature of the hunt theme.

Stores in mall locations will be accepted *if* you are able to put a prim path towards your store (this will be provided) or if direct teleports are enabled.

Original content creators only please. Resellers and “business in a box” vendors will not be accepted.

Your hunt gift must either be an original build made for the hunt, or an existing build modified in some way (perhaps a unique texture). It must not be available elsewhere (either in your shop, for another hunt or via the marketplace) for the duration of the hunt. Remember that this is a Femdom hunt: the hunters will be Dommes and male and female subs. Please, no items aimed at male Doms.

Once accepted into the hunt you’ll receive vendor information, a group invitation and a hunt sign. Please carefully read the vendor information, accept the group invitation and place the hunt sign at your store.

The order of stores in the hunt will be the order of application acceptance. The hunt will be designed as a “circular hunt” in that the last location will have a link to the first location. This will allow people to start anywhere they wish in the hunt.

Applications close on the end of March 14th 2011 (SLT). We will keep a record of late applications and if a spot becomes available we may invite you to fill it.

First walk-through will take place on March 18th (SLT). This will simply be to make sure that all SLURLs provided are correct and that all hunt signs are out at the given landing points.

Second walk-through will take place on April 8th (SLT). You’ll be required to place your hunt item (minus the gift) beside the sign and we’ll be checking for this.

Third walk-through will take place on April 14th (SLT). This will be the final check. We expect to find that the item will have been removed from the sign and hidden in your store. We also will be checking to see that your hint is in place.
